ย Budgam,16th January 2025: Budgam Police organized awareness programmes on the New Criminal Laws viz 1. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2. Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and 3. Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). These laws came into effect on July 1, 2024. The officers from Budgam Police highlighted the role and importance of new criminal laws among the participants who came from different areas of the district. The events witnessed significant participation from educationists, prominent individuals and students. They were given a basic awareness of the New Criminal Laws followed by interactive discussions to enhance their practical knowledge of the laws. The new laws include provisions that ensure justice for the victims of crime and the society at large. Modernization of the investigation process through the use of technology has been included and the new laws also sets timelines for trials. The participants appreciated the role of Budgam Police in organising such awareness programmes in the district.
