The flood situation remains critical in 14 districts of Bihar, including Patna, with more than 8.5 lakh people affected. Several rivers are flowing above the danger mark, while relief and rescue operations continue.
Around 70,000 animals have also been affected, with 700 boats, relief camps and community kitchens operating in affected areas.
In Patna, rising water levels of the Punpun River have disrupted train services on the Gaya-Patna rail section after water entered the down track at Railway Bridge No. 21 at Punpun Ghat. Train operations have been suspended until further orders.
