Shiv Sena Hindustan’s Jammu and Kashmir unit, led by President Pt Rajesh Kesri, held a press conference in Jammu to express grief over the recent rain-related incidents in the region. The incidents, particularly in hilly areas, have resulted in significant loss of life and property. Kesri expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property in areas such as Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, and Kathua.
Kesri said the flash floods and landslides have damaged roads, residential houses, and other public infrastructure. Several vehicles were swept away in the debris. He urged the government to provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased and ensure that the bodies of those who have lost their lives are transported to their homes with dignity.
Kesri emphasized the need for the government to provide support to families who have lost loved ones, particularly those with young children, by ensuring their education and providing employment opportunities. While expressing gratitude for the efforts of the Jammu Range IGP and their team in providing relief, Kesri stressed that more needs to be done to support the affected families.
Kesri urged the government to prioritize the treatment of injured individuals in hospitals and provide them with financial assistance. He also emphasized the need for the government to take responsibility for the welfare of families affected by these incidents. The press conference was attended by senior leaders, including Ramesh Gupta, Praveen Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma, Baldeep Saini, and Rajkumar Bhagat.
