Jammu: 29 Aug 2025: The troops of Indian Army’s White Knight Corps executed a series of decisive rescue and humanitarian relief operations across the Jammu Region in response to recent floods and landslides. Responding to urgent requests from civil authorities, columns were promptly mobilised to critical sites including Ardhkuwari, Makwal, Jaurian and other affected areas.
At Ardhkuwari, following a devastating landslide near the waiting point, the Army responded swiftly, facilitating search and evacuation along with Shrine Board and civil administration staff. Despite challenging conditions, the troops rescued multiple individuals, with the injured being attended to in close coordination with rescue teams.
Flood relief columns spearheaded the evacuation of stranded civilians from submerged villages such as Balle Da Bagh and Makwal, where rising water levels of the Chenab River posed severe risk to life. Using boats and specialist rescue equipment, the troops of White Knight Corps ensured safe relocation of civilians, including children and extended essential support such as food and medical care.
A successful air evacuation was also launched by Army Aviation Squadrons of White Knight Corps, rescuing personnel trapped in isolated or inundated locations in forward areas of Akhnoor. Close collaboration with all aiding agencies facilitated medical evacuation in emergent cases, underlining the White Knight Corps’ commitment to life-saving action.

Throughout the operations, the Corps prioritised saving of lives, provisioning medical assistance to the needy and restoration of key infrastructure, including the clearance of access routes for emergency services and repair of vital utilities for institutions such as IIM Jammu. Simultaneous engineering efforts from Army units enabled swift response to damaged roads and pipelines, ensuring timely restoration of normalcy in affected localities. Relief and evacuation operations extended to remote villages across Jaurian Sector where civilians stranded by floodwaters were systematically assisted to safety.

The combined effect of these multi-pronged operations once again demonstrates the unyielding resolve and professionalism of the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps in standing by the people of Jammu Region during times of adversity, truly embodying the ethos: “We Serve, We Protect”
