National Conference of the Welfare Committees for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of Parliament and the State/Union Territory Legislative Assemblies concluded successfully in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla addressed the concluding session, stating that the purpose of these committees is not to criticize the government, but to provide constructive suggestions to make government schemes more people-centric.
He emphasised that if the committees work in collaboration with the government, transparency and accountability in governance will improve, helping achieve the goal of empowering society.
