Fani Rushes Water Relief to Flood-Hit Prem Nagar, Bringing Hope Amid Crisis”

Jammu, August 30: In a bid to tide over the acute water crisis gripping the flood-hit localities of Ward No. 6 and 7 in Jogi Gate Prem Nagar Jammu, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Morcha J&K Spokesperson and socio-political leader Farid Ahmed Fani on Saturday arranged free water tankers through the Jal Shakti Department to provide relief to residents. The initiative brought much-needed respite to households struggling without regular water supply for over a week.
Speaking on the occasion, Fani said the devastation caused by flash floods, cloudbursts and heavy rains across Jammu and Kashmir has left behind a trail of destruction crippling daily life. “From loss of lives and property to ruined crops and disrupted electricity, internet and roads, the calamity has struck every sphere of public life. In Jammu too, Prem Nagar residents were facing severe shortage of drinking water, and today we ensured supply through tankers in coordination with Jal Shakti Department,” he stated.
Residents of the locality expressed gratitude for the timely intervention pointing out that the scarcity had persisted since the recent spell of heavy rains. Many families said that the provision of drinking water was their foremost need and lauded the initiative as a vital support during the ongoing crisis.
Fani further underlined that service to the people remains his foremost duty. “I often stand shoulder to shoulder with the community in times of distress. Beyond politics, I see myself as a social worker who will continue to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people till my last breath,” he remarked.
With recurring natural calamities hitting the region, citizens of Jammu have repeatedly demanded sustainable measures to secure drinking water supplies. Saturday’s effort in Prem Nagar, however, served as an immediate relief, ensuring that residents did not go without one of life’s basic necessities during these trying times.
