Bhaderwah, Dec 1: In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, Ananyaa Kotwal, daughter of Prof. Arjun Kotwal, resident of Bhalra Bhaderwah, has been selected to represent the Union Territory in the 51st National Women Chess Championship – 2025.
The prestigious championship is scheduled to be held from 03 December to 13 December 2025 at Sidhu Kanu Indoor Stadium, Durgapur, West Bengal. The event is being organised by Sara Bangla Daba Sangstha on behalf of the All India Chess Federation (AICF).
Present on the occasion of screening were Krupali Singh (Gymnastic Coach), S. Iqbal Singh (Divisional Sports Officer Jammu), Ananyaa Kotwal and Anil Kotwal (President, Bhaderkashi Chess Association, District Doda), who extended their best wishes for her upcoming national championship performance.
The Bhaderkashi Chess Association and the local sports community have expressed immense pride and confidence that Ananyaa will bring laurels to the Union Territory with her dedication and talent.
