ANS VALLEY KOTRANKA CARNIVAL ORGANISED BY INDIAN ARMY IN DISTRICT RAJOURI

As part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahostav” Indian Army organised ‘Ans Valley Carnival’ festival to promote sports, local culture, traditions and welfare activities at Kotranka, Rajouri (J&K). Culture plays an important role in the lives of people. They are best way to understand local inhabitants. This festival had the distinctions of having multifaceted, variegated and unique blends of sports and academic events. Unity amidst diversity has been the focus area, which is based on rites and rituals, languages embedded in period of history. During Kotranka Carnival traditional competitions were conducted for the tribal participants.

     

This carnival like events challenged the physical strength and endurance of players through the games like Volleyball, Tug of war, and Stone lifting.  The youth draped in colorful costumes displayed songs and dances with zeal and gaiety. Widows and Veer Naris of the area were also felicitated on the occasion. Welfare activities help-desks were sponsored by SBI and J&K Banks. Govt schemes of DPDO, Rajouri covered and attended to the participants requirements. Govt official and local Sarpanchs, spoke on importance of unity and diversity and cultural cohesion in their speeches. Parents of students and Ex-servicemen expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude towards Indian Army for organising this grand event on concept note of nationalism.
