Bhim Singh appeals to VC, Central University of Jammu to give equal chance to the village students

Prof.Bhim Singh, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court & President, J&K National Panthers Party has urged the Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Jammu for his urgent attention towards the admission of newly admitted MBA student Ms. Vandana Devi, d/o Mr. Gian Chand, r/o Sundla, Tehsil Majalta, District Udhampur, J&K. The candidate was duly selected for the MBA for the session of 2021-22. Ms. Vandana Devi belongs to a village which is about 100 kms. away from the University. According to the rules and regulations, a candidate who is admitted in the University shall be entitled to a residential hostel if the candidate is residing more than 30 kms. from the University.

Prof.Bhim Singh urged the Vice-Chancellor to kindly grant the admission to Ms. Vandana Devi as she fulfills all requirements stipulated by the rules about the students’ entitlement in the hostel.

He hoped that the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor will be kind enough to intervene in this matter in the interest of justice, equity and rule of law so that a village girl who has been admitted in her own right shall get hostel accommodation in the University. This will encourage hundreds of deserving students from the villages as at the moment they cannot afford to apply simply because of the exuberant rent in the city of Jammu. The children who hope to become part of the society and work in the cities to enhance the lifestyle of their families will get encouragement to apply in future. That will help the Nation to do justice to its citizens living in villages.
