Seeks community participation to achieve desired results
RAJOURI: As a part of J&K Go Green initiative and with the aim to enhance the green cover in the district, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today launched institutional plantation drive here in the premises of the office of SE Hydraulics.
ADDC, Pawan Kumar; SE Jal Shakti, JP Singh; DSCO, Rashid Manhas; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed and staff of the Jal Shakti Department were present during the plantation drive.
The Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion said, “The drive has been started with the objective to enhance the green cover and create an eco-friendly ambience in the district.”
“The need of the hour is to educate the masses about the role of plants in making the environment clean and green and the public must carry forward the mission of plantation at their own level by planting saplings at their homes at any time of the year”, said the Deputy Commissioner.
He asked the concerned departments not to restrict the initiative to offices and education institutions but promote the plantation at community level for achieving impressive results.
