Jammu: 21 May 2025: The Inaugural Ceremony of the Pre-Release Course (PRC) on Solar Panel Installation Technician was held today at the IEDUP Project Office, Jammu. The training program is being conducted under the aegis of the MSME & Export Promotion Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and is sponsored by the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
The program was formally inaugurated by the Director, Directorate of Resettlement Zone (DRZ) North, in the presence of the Regional Head of IEDUP, the Jammu Project Office Team, and other key dignitaries.
This skill-based training program is specifically designed to empower Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (ORs) of the armed forces with technical knowledge and practical skills in the fast-growing renewable energy sector. The primary aim is to prepare the retiring personnel for self-employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities in the field of solar energy post-retirement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director of DRZ (North) emphasized the importance of equipping retiring defense personnel with future-ready skills that align with national goals such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Skill India. He applauded IEDUP’s efforts in executing quality training programs that ensure practical exposure and employment readiness.
The course will cover key aspects of solar panel installation, system maintenance, and entrepreneurship, thereby enabling participants to either seek meaningful employment or set up their own ventures in the green energy sector.
