ON “RESPONSIBLE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA”
Government Polytechnic Jammu today organised an expert
lecture on the topics "Career in V-Blogging" and "Responsible Use of Social
Media," in which Sh. Ashish Kohli, Senior Journalist, JK Media, was the
resource person. The seminar was attended by all the staff and students of
this institute. In his speech on the subject, he emphasised the need to use
social media in a way that considers enhancing the country's image. Vlogs
that are innovative and creative ought to be posted for the benefit of society.
He also through light on negative effects of social media and advice the
students to use social media responsibly.
Principal, Er Arun Bangotra, also spoke about the social media's
usefulness and encouraged students to create videos that are both
inspirational and skill-based, which will help spread knowledge among others.
He advice the students to use social media for educational purpose and
concentrate more on academic & physical activities with optimum use of social
media.
After the session there is a lot of question-answering by the
students to the Sr. Journalist. It was a very productive session, and the
resource person responded to all the students' blog and social media related
questions. The students appreciated the effort of the college to arrange such
useful sessions on latest current topic for the benefit of the students.
