Poonch Rajouri and Reasi : 03 Apr 2025: Indian Army has been working for the amelioration of the local populace. The area is free from militancy due to the relentless Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism Operations by the Indian Army. Indian Army has also been focused towards implementing Sadbhavana and Sampark Projects with an aim to change the perception of the underprivileged population, which ultimately manifests in sustained peace and prosperity in the region. Indian Army conducted an awareness talk for the students of Govt Higher Secondary School, Samote, Ratajabra, Nagyal Bani, Sail Sui on the occasion of โWorld Autism Awareness Dayโ. World Autism Awareness Day is observed globally on 02 Apr every year. This year is the 17th Annual World Autism Awareness Day.
This day is observed to highlight the need to improve the quality of life of those with autism so they can lead full and meaningful lives as an integral part of society. The theme of this talk is โThe Transition of Adulthoodโ. This theme draws attention to the adulthood of people with autism. Autism is a development disorder that refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech impedance and non-verbal communication.
A total of 15 teachers and 145 students and 92 civilians benefited during the talk. Teachers and Students have thanked and expressed their profound gratitude towards the Indian Army for organizing the awareness talk and taking this noble initiative for locals which will create a positive atmosphere between the Indian Army and the local Residents.
