Indian Army Flags Off a National Integration Tour for J&K Students at Akhnoor

Akhnoor: 06 Oct 2025: The General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division, today flagged off a National Integration Tour for a group of 47 students and 3 teachers, accompanied by Indian Army officials, from Akhnoor, Jammu & Kashmir. This educational-cum-motivational tour is being conducted under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavana to foster unity, peace and prosperity while providing participants with an insight into India’s rich heritage and developmental progress.

The seven-day tour from Akhnoor to New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur will take participants to prominent historical and cultural sites in these cities. The objective is to expose the youth to India’s vibrant culture, history and technological advancements, broadening their horizons and inspiring them towards nation-building. A special interaction with Indian Army units has also been scheduled during the trip to motivate the youth and share stories of bravery and national pride. This initiative is an integral part of the Indian Army’s commitment under Operation Sadbhavana to empower the youth and instil a sense of national pride. The students selected for this tour belong to remote and border villages from underprivileged backgrounds and were chosen through a rigorous selection process.

Both students and parents have expressed immense excitement and gratitude for this unique opportunity. Operation Sadbhavana is a flagship initiative of the Indian Army aimed at winning the hearts and minds of the local population in remote and conflict-affected regions by fostering goodwill, education and empowerment.
