On the occasion of the International Women’s and to commemorate the contribution of women in varied fields, Indian Army organized events in the three Districts of Rajouri, Reasi and Poonch (J&K). During these interactions, the attendees were explained about the importance of women in the progress of the society and the need to strengthen efforts being made towards women empowerment in the region.
Life stories of prominent Indian Women were also discussed to motivate the gathering for achieving excellence in their chosen fields. This opportunity was also utilized to highlight various initiatives of the Government such as ‘Sukanya Samridhi Yojana’, ‘Uijwala Scheme’, ‘State Marriage Assistance Scheme’, ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ etc. The women attending these events, appreciated the efforts being made by Indian Army through numerous educative and skill development programs to inspire, encourage and guide them towards a brighter future.
