Ramban : 01 May 2023: In an attempt to provide basic medical facilities to people residing in remote villages of J&K, the Indian Army organised a medical camp at village Kaona in District Ramban. The medical camp aimed to reach out to people hailing from backward areas and could not afford basic medical care and advice.
In addition to basic health checkup and providing medicines, those in need of specialist care were referred for requisite treatments. More than 150 patients from Kaona and nearby villages who are from the underprivileged category were treated at the camp. On the sidelines of the medical camp, a Drug Awareness program was also conducted to educate local population about the harmful effects of consuming drug and de-addiction measures. While lauding the initiatives undertaken by Indian Army to provide basic health facilities, the Awaam requested that more such medical camps be organised in the area on a regular basis.
