Indian Army organised Sarpanch Ekta Sammelan at Pallanwala, Akhnoor

 Indian Army organised a Sarpanch Ekta Sammelan at Pallanwala with an aim to enhance cooperation, security and promote bonhomie with population of border villages as part of Nation Building. Sarpanches were briefed on prevailing security situation and were made aware of growing threat of Narco terrorism. Sarpanches also briefed on various Government initiatives and welfare schemes and role of public representatives in promoting and facilitating these schemes.

Indian Army Officials assured the gathering of their continued assistance in projection and upliftment of local youth through skill generation, awareness camps and fitness seminars.  Speaking on the issue of role of youth in Nation Building, senior Indian Army officials reiterated that Indian Army being a bridge between locals and Government, concerted efforts are being made in coordination and close cooperation with local officials to enhance reach of Government schemes. Indian Army officials also sought suggestions and feedback for enhancing welfare of local populace and alleviating issues concerning them. Sarpanches expressed their gratitude to Indian Army for improved security situation and their continued assistance and positive outlook in prompt redressal of grievances.
