To put an end to the use and spread of drugs, Kulgam police is making consistent efforts by way of enforcement operations and to suppress drug trafficking networks.
In this regard; Yesterday at about 1530 hours while checking vehicles on a checkpoint established at Alstop on NHW 44, Police party headed by IC PP Mirbazar intercepted a suspicious person namely; Mohammad Ashraf Bhat S/O Ghulam Rasool Bhat R/O Rahpora, Khudwani carrying a bag. After checking of the bag; officer present was able to recover 40 bottles of (Codeine Phosphate) like contraband substance. The said drug peddler was arrested on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 44/2023 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated.
