Next article SOPORE POLICE ORGANISES CYBER CRIME AWARENESS DAY Sopore, 01 March 2023: In order to generate awareness about Cyber Crimes, Sopore Police organised Cyber Crime Awareness Day at all the Police Stations of Police District Sopore. The participants included respectable citizens, youth and students of Police District Sopore were briefed about various types of cyber threats/crimes such as identity theft, credit card fraud, data stealing, cyber stalking, Pornography, OTP frauds, Cyber Terrorism, E-mail Spoofing etc. Speaking on the occasion, the officers advised the participants to adopt safe browsing habits, to avoid suspicious websites while surfing the internet. They also appealed the participants to not share OTPs or Bank Account Details and Passwords. The officers also explained the ways to adopt precautionary measures while conducting Internet Banking and online transactions. The Participants were also cautioned against accepting friend requests from unknown persons or chatting with unknown persons on social media. Finally, the participants appreciated the efforts of Sopore Police for organising Cyber awareness programmes and spreading awareness about various cyber crimes among the common masses. The events were concluded with the vote of thanks from both the sides.
