MLA Mohan Lal inaugurates development works worth ₹66.72 lakh in Akhnoor Focus on strengthening roads, culverts and healthcare infrastructure

Akhnoor, Mar 11: Giving further momentum to development in the Akhnoor Assembly Constituency, MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat today inaugurated and launched several important development works aimed at strengthening road connectivity, healthcare services and basic infrastructure in the area. The projects together involve an expenditure of about ₹66.72 lakh.

On the occasion, the MLA inaugurated the construction work of the link road from Gurha Jagir to Shiv Mandir Sohal, being executed at a cost of ₹28.19 lakh. The project will improve connectivity and provide better transportation facilities to the local residents.

In continuation of the development initiatives, blacktopping work of the road from Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor to Kot Garhi was also started at a cost of ₹18 lakh, which will greatly benefit students and residents who frequently use the road.

Meanwhile, the renovated building of the Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Badgal in Panchayat Dhok Jagir was formally inaugurated after completion of renovation works carried out at a cost of ₹11.01 lakh. The improved facility is expected to provide better primary healthcare services to people living in the surrounding areas.

The MLA also launched the construction of a 3-metre span RCC culvert at Sardar Mohalla, Mawa Karora (Gurah Brahmana East) being constructed at a cost of ₹9.52 lakh. The culvert will particularly help the residents during the rainy season by ensuring smooth movement and better connectivity.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unprecedented development is taking place across the country and Jammu & Kashmir is also witnessing rapid progress in strengthening infrastructure. He said sustained efforts are being made to improve road networks, healthcare facilities and other essential public infrastructure in the Akhnoor Assembly Constituency.

Bhagat emphasized that his priority is to ensure that development reaches every village, ward and habitation of the constituency, so that people do not face inconvenience in accessing basic amenities. He added that construction of new roads, upgradation of existing roads, strengthening of healthcare institutions and construction of bridges and culverts are being taken up on priority to ensure the overall development of the region.

On the occasion, BJP District President Kuldeep Sharma said that the strong organisational structure of the BJP and its people-oriented policies are ensuring that development reaches the last person in society. He added that BJP workers remain committed to serving the people and addressing their issues while strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level.

Executive Engineer Sanjeev Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer Sunil Bogia and Junior Engineers Radhey, Sourav and Gagan were also present on the occasion.
