Kilhotran,Bhallessa: August 29, 2024 – Department of Physical Education & Sports in collaboration with NSS at GDC Kilhotran, hosted a vibrant and engaging Sports Day on 29 August, 2024. This annual event was held in honor of Major Dhyan Chand, the celebrated Indian hockey legend renowned for his exceptional contributions to the sport.
The celebration was inaugurated by Dr. Aslam Rather, Programme Officer and Head, Department of Chemistry, under the esteemed supervision of Prof. (Dr) Javaid Iqbal Zargar, Principal of GDC Kilhotran.
The event, which took place on August 29, 2024 was meticulously organized by Mr. Zakir Ali, Physical Director of the College, who ensured that all activities proceeded seamlessly. The day’s proceedings were further managed by a dedicated team including Mr. Vickey Rattan, Convenor of the Sports Committee and Head, Department of Hindi, Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Head, Department of Economics, and Dr. Waqar Yonus Butt, Head, Department of English.
Dr. Rather, in his inaugural address, emphasized the significance of National Sports Day as a reminder of the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance that sports instill. He commended the students for their enthusiastic participation and highlighted the role of sports in promoting holistic development.
Prof. (Dr) Javaid Iqbal Zargar, Principal of GDC Kilhotran, expressed his appreciation for the collective efforts of the organizing team and the enthusiastic response from students.
