PROF BHIM SINGH DEATH ANNIVERSARY….

JAMMU, MAY 31: On the solemn occasion of the third death anniversary of Prof. Bhim Singh, the founder of the J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP), rich floral tributes were paid in his honour. Leaders and members of JKNPP (Bhim) gathered to commemorate his unparalleled contributions to society and his unwavering commitment to justice and equality.

Speaking at the event, Vilakshan Singh, President of JKNPP (Bhim), described Prof. Bhim Singh as a politician par excellence, who never compromised on his principles, no matter how adverse the circumstances. He emphasized that Prof. Bhim Singh’s passing has left a huge void in the political landscape, one that is difficult to fill. His dedication to the cause of the poor and downtrodden was unwavering, and his sacrifices for the people of Jammu & Kashmir remain unmatched.

Prof. Bhim Singh was a staunch advocate for justice, fearlessly opposing discriminatory policies such as the draconian Resettlement Act and the deprivation of women’s state subject status after marriage. He fought against all forms of discrimination, regardless of caste, colour, or creed, and was widely regarded as one of the most secular leaders in the country. Once convinced that an injustice had been committed, he fought tooth and nail to rectify it, without concern for religious or political affiliations.

In addition to his battles for social justice, Prof. Bhim Singh was a tireless crusader for the rights of the Dogra community, fighting against the Kashmiri leadership that till date treats Dogras as second-class citizens. He strongly opposed this systematic marginalization and worked relentlessly to ensure fair representation and equal rights for the Dogras. His commitment to justice for the Dogras remains a cornerstone of his legacy.

Speaking on this issue, Vilakshan Singh emphasized that discrimination against the Dogras continues unabated, and JKNPP (Bhim) shall persist in its struggle to secure the rightful place of the Dogras in Jammu & Kashmir’s political and social landscape. He urged people to rally behind the party to ensure justice and fair opportunities for the Dogra community.

Beyond his political career, Prof. Bhim Singh was a multifaceted personality, excelling as a lawyer, writer, and activist. He was known for his legal battles in defence of human rights, often taking cases to the Supreme Court of India to challenge injustices. His contributions extended beyond national borders, as he actively engaged in international advocacy for peace and justice.

The J&K National Panthers Party (Bhim) reaffirmed its commitment to carrying forward Prof. Bhim Singh’s legacy, vowing to continue the fight for “Haq-Insaf”. Vilakshan Singh urged the masses to strengthen JKNPP (Bhim), emphasizing that it remains the only party in J&K capable of fulfilling the aspirations of the people, particularly the Dogras.

Other leaders who spoke on the occasion included Naresh Chib, Balwan Singh, Rajesh Gondhi, Ravinder Jamwal, Sanjeev Verma, Rakesh Gupta, Rajan Jamwal, Sanju Kumar, Navin Bali, Santosh Singh, Rinku Kumar and several others, all of whom echoed the sentiments of Prof. Bhim Singh’s enduring impact on the political and social fabric of Jammu & Kashmir.
