A Rear Area Security Exercise MILAP 21 was conducted by Pàthankot Sub Area from 29 Nov to 30 Nov 2021. The aim of the exercise was to assess the effectiveness of Rear Area Security plans at the backdrop of changing operational dynamics and to synergize efforts amongst all stakeholders.
In addition to participation of senior army officers, civil officials from civil administration of three states participated in the event. The role and task of all stake holders was discussed in detail by senior dignitaries from J&K Police, Punjab Police, Himachal Pradesh Police, CRPF and Railways. The exercise deliberated upon the need of coordinated operations to ensure that there are no active hostilities. Speakers dwelt upon the rapidly changing security situation and stressed the need for dynamic, flexible and resilient Rear Area Security Plan.
During his address Lt Gen PN Ananthnarayanan, GOC, Rising Star Corps brought out that the success of Rear Area Security hinges upon principle of unity of efforts, integrated approach and synergised efforts of all stake holders i.e Army, CAPF, State Police, Railways, Civil administration and other stakeholders for the successful execution of Rear Area Security Plans.
