The two-day brainstorming session, ‘Manthan-2,’ held at the NCC Directorate Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, reached its zenith on August 12th. The event aimed to generate innovative ideas and solutions to amplify the influence and impact of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in the regions of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
The discussions during ‘Manthan-2’ unfolded as an engaging discourse marked by free-flowing ideas and a relaxed approach, geared towards problem-solving through creative and lateral thinking. The objective was to explore novel approaches that would augment NCC’s role through innovation and creativity.
The second day of the event saw intensive deliberations on key topics, including:
- Optimization and Utilization of Training Infrastructure: Identifying strategies to effectively use existing training facilities to enhance cadet training experiences.
- Feasibility of Inter Battalion Sports Competitions: Exploring the possibility and methods for conducting inter-battalion sports competitions to foster camaraderie and sportsmanship among cadets.
- NCC’s Future in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh: Charting a path forward for the NCC in the regions, aligning it with the changing landscape and needs.
- Exploration of Training Areas Beyond NCC Training Academy, Nagrota: Identifying alternative training grounds to diversify cadet experiences and exposure.
- AI Hackathon: Harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence through a hackathon to find innovative solutions for challenges faced by the NCC.
- Learning from NCC Best Practices in USA, UK, and Singapore: Gaining insights from NCC practices in other countries renowned for their successful cadet programs.
- Expansion of NCC Alumni Association: Exploring avenues to grow and strengthen the NCC Alumni Association.
Maj General Rajesh Kumar Sachdeva, ADG, JK &L Directorate, lauded the participants for their dynamic contributions to ‘Manthan-2,’ remarking that the event had been enlightening, thought-provoking, and rejuvenating. He underscored the importance of integrating technology into NCC operations, adapting to the evolving societal dynamics.
