In a continued drive against drug abuse, District Police Reasi, under Operation Jeevandan, has intensified its efforts to curb illegal drug activities through surprise checkpoints and thorough inspections.
During a surprise naka at Reasi Arnas Road, a team of Police Station Reasi spotted a suspicious individual near Sidco Gate, Gran Morh Katal. Upon seeing the police, the individual attempted to flee from the spot but alert jawan swiftly swung into action and apprehended him. The suspect was identified as Sunil S/O Kartar R/O Katal Gran Morh, during his search 2.21 grams of a heroin-like substance was found from his possession.
In this regard an FIR No.125/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi, and an investigation is ongoing to uncover further connections in the drug network. The whole operation is led by SHO Reasi under supervision of DySP HQs Reasi.

This includes organizing awareness programs throughout the district and regularly booking drug peddlers under the PITNDPS Act. Additionally, Reasi Police has launched an Anti-Drug Helpline (9070907017) to assist the public, with assurances that caller identities will remain confidential.
SSP Reasi conveyed a strong message to drug peddlers, emphasizing that there is no place for them in Reasi. She urged them to abandon their harmful activities and rejoin the mainstream, warning that failure to do so would result in severe legal consequences.
