India’s urban water management is shifting from wastewater disposal to resource recovery under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban.

₹11,785 crore approved under SBM 2.0 for Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) in small cities, adding 4,900 MLD treatment capacity.

Jaipur’s 215 MLD Dehlawas STP is Rajasthan’s highest-capacity sewage treatment plant, using SCADA and SBR technology.

Indore became the first Water+ certified city, with STPs, 200+ km of treated-water pipelines and reuse for horticulture and urban services.

Tirupati’s STP reuses 24 MLD treated water, including 5 MLD sold to industry, generating ₹6 lakh in monthly net revenue.
