A major landslide triggered by continuous heavy rainfall damaged several houses in Rimbi village of Sikkim’s Gyalshing district last night. Several houses, including government accommodations, were destroyed or extensively damaged. Officials said there was no loss of life.
CM Prem Singh Tamang expressed concern over the situation and directed authorities to remain on high alert and take all necessary measures to ensure residents’ safety.
