Border trade between India and China through the Shipki-La route in the tribal district of Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, is set to resume from June 1 after a gap. To ensure the smooth conduct of trade via the Shipki-La route, the Kinnaur district administration has accelerated preparations in line with the directions of the central government.
Warehouses and shops will be constructed for traders in the Chhupan area of Namgya Panchayat in Pooh subdivision, so that better facilities can be provided for commercial activities.
Under this trade arrangement, around 40 types of goods will be exchanged, including local products such as flour, rice, jaggery, oil, turmeric, spices, salt, carpets, utensils, and dry fruits.
