Discussion on Anti-Drug Awareness organised at Kalas, Poonch

In a recent gathering of villagers in Bandi Chechiyan, a remotely located village along the Line of Control, the topic of discussion was centered on the issue of drugs.  The villagers, who had noticed a sharp increase in drug-related activities in their community, expressed their concern and sought solutions to address this problem. The discussion was initiated by one of the community elders who emphasized the need for parents to be vigilant and keep a close eye on their children’s activities.  He urged them to talk to their children about the dangers of drug use and to instill in them a strong sense of moral values. Another villager suggested the establishment of a community-based anti-drug program, which would involve educating young people about the dangers of drugs, providing support to families affected by drug use, and working with law enforcement to crackdown on drug dealers.  Several villagers also shared their own experiences with drug addiction, either directly or through family members.  They highlighted the devastating impact that drug use can have on individuals and families, including financial ruin, health problems and social isolation. Despite the challenges, the villagers remained optimistic and committed to tackling this issue together. They acknowledged that it would require a concerted effort from everyone in the community, including parents, educators, law enforcement officials, and religious leaders, to successfully combat drug use and its harmful effects. In conclusion, the discussion among the villagers demonstrated their strong resolve to address the issue of drugs and their determination to work together to create a safer and healthier community for all.
