Indian Army Distributed Blankets, Shawls, Lantern and Stationary at Mathianigala, Rajouri

Rajouri: 19 Jan 2026: A welfare and outreach activity was organised by Army at Mathianigala for the benefit of the Gujjar/Bakkarwal communities residing in the area. As part of the initiative, essential items including blankets, shawls, lanterns (Lalten) and stationery were distributed to the beneficiaries.

The distribution of blankets and shawls was aimed at providing relief during the harsh winter conditions, while lanterns were provided to support daily activities in areas with limited electricity. Stationery items were distributed to school-going children to encourage education and support their academic needs.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community, who expressed gratitude towards the Battalion for the timely assistance. The initiative reinforced the Armyโ€™s commitment towards the welfare of remote and underprivileged communities and further strengthened civilโ€“military relations in the area.
